Map Penalty

How the Map Penalty Works

Each map has a Penalty Level. This number indicates the minimum recommended level for a character to play on the map without suffering penalties.

If the character is below the indicated level, the system will apply progressive penalties.

The greater the difference between the character’s level and the map’s level, the greater the penalty applied (up to a maximum limit of 70%).

What happens if I am below the recommended level?

If your character is below the map level, three effects are applied:

  • 🔻 You deal less damage to monsters.
  • 🔺 You receive more damage from monsters.
  • 📉 Your EXP gain is reduced.

These penalties increase according to the difference between your level and the map’s recommended level.

Examples

Case 1

Map: Twisted Karutan Penalty Level: 1500

If your character is level 1480, you are below the recommended level.

Result:

  • 🔻 Reduced EXP
  • 🔻 Reduced damage dealt
  • 🔺 Increased damage received

Case 2

Map: Twisted Karutan Character level 1500

Result:

  • ✅ Normal EXP
  • ✅ Normal damage
  • ✅ Normal damage received
